The application provides valuable insights into the orbiting patterns of NASA's ICESat-2 satellite, launched in 2018, which employs green laser technology to monitor surface elevation changes across polar ice sheets, glaciers, sea ice, as well as terrestrial and aquatic environments. Its data contributes to a detailed and precise mapping of our planet's topography, surpassing previous resolution capabilities.

Designed for user convenience, the tool allows users to identify upcoming satellite flybys over specific locations. By selecting a target site—either manually via map or latitude/longitude input, or by using current location—and defining a search radius, users can access information on satellite pass schedules extending up to three months ahead. This functionality can assist in planning observational activities, citizen science initiatives, or anticipating the availability of elevation data from the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC).
